I’ve just uploaded all my photos from Flash on the Beach 09 all in one lump. It might be a struggle trying to name everyone but feel free to give it a go in the comments. Looking forward to next year!
Saturday 19th September
On the Saturday night we’ll be heading off to the dogs again as we had such a good time last year. Hopefully people have learnt all the secrets and we’ll have lots of winners rather than spending all our beer money! The first race is at 1930 so I suggest we aim to get there around 1900 this time. If you want to meet at the stadium, go straight there, or we’ll hang around in the bar at the Premier Inn and order some cabs to come and collect us. Please let me know if you want to come in the cab so I can make sure there’s enough! If you’re on a budget you can also get the 55 or 5B bus from North Street which will take you almost directly to the stadium. Entry is £6 and the last race is at 2230, we’ll be back in Brighton at around 2300.
Sunday 20th September
Last years meal was amazing but some people found it very expensive and lacking in English Indian dishes. This year we have chosen Agra Brasserie, the menu here seems to offer a good mix of dishes so hopefully there will be something for everyone. The meeting point will again be at the Premier Inn, it means we can play some pool while we’re waiting for people. I suggest arriving from around 1900 which should give people time to finish any workshops they’re on and we’ll head for the curry at 2000. Again, please let me know if you want to come along as I’ll book a table to make sure we’re not disappointed.

Thought I’d do one of those posts to let you know what I’m going to try and catch this year. There’s always so many good things on it’s difficult to pick what to go to but hopefully there wont be too many clashes with things I’d like to attend.

I’ve just been helping someone on IRC who was having a problem with their site. First time they loaded the page the site ran fine, however, the second time their code failed to execute correctly, however on clearing their cache it was all fine again. I’ve run into the problem this guy was having a few times and it’s amazing how common it is.
I recently purchased a Samsung F700, in the UK these are only available on the Vodafone network but I heard they were unlocked so I took the plunge and nabbed one from Ebay. When it arrived I put my SIM card in and it all worked! I could make calls and send messages fine. However, with a phone like this you really want to use all of it and the web browser was one of the things I wanted to get up and running first, I then also wanted to get the MMS working as this was also giving me problems. If you’re in the same situation read on and I’ll give you a hand in getting it all up and running. [ read more ]
